Description
Kisspeptin Nasal Spray contains 10 mg of kisspeptin in a 15 ml nasal spray bottle.
What is kisspeptin?
Kisspeptins are a family of peptides encoded by the KISS1 gene. They act on the kisspeptin receptor, KISS1R (also called GPR54). Kisspeptin-10, the shortest fragment that fully activates this receptor, is the form most often used in research.
Research focus
Kisspeptin is studied in reproductive endocrinology, where the kisspeptin–KISS1R system is known as an upstream regulator of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). Research areas include:
- GnRH and luteinising hormone (LH) signalling
- puberty onset and the reproductive axis
- the links between metabolism and reproduction
Kisspeptin is not an approved medicine.
